Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) - Co-Chair

Formation & Purpose:

The Congressional Ahmadiyya Muslim Caucus was formed to combat religious persecution of the members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Muslim majority countries. In 2014, former Representative Frank Wolf (R-VA) and Representative Jackie Speier (D-CA) established the Ahmadiyya Muslim Caucus to educate members of Congress about the repression of religious minorities worldwide (especially in South Asia and the Middle East), including Ahmadi Muslims, Christians, and other persecuted communities. The Caucus endeavors to forge a bi-partisan effort to advocate in a timely manner on behalf of oppressed communities and prisoners of conscience, consistent with the objectives of the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998.

The current co-chairs of the Caucus are Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA 14) and Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX 10). You can join the Caucus by contacting Alexandria Musser in Rep. Speier’s office, or Cameron Poursoltan in Rep. McCaul’s office.
